Manager of Transport Networks
Blair, Nebraska

We are looking for an energetic and detailed individual to manage our statewide Transport Network.

Duties include:
•Designing, installing, and ensuring the availability and performance for all circuits on various SONET, TDM, and Ethernet-based transport technologies
•Analyzing traffic data, trouble report data, and managing the operations of the Network and Transport systems that will meet internal and external customer service levels
•Designing and engineering transport network equipment additions, changes, removals and cutovers, including acting as the primary vendor contact and the SME for the company transport network
•Working with other engineering departments to provide input for network strategic planning efforts
•Working with the company sales team to provide engineering support on proposals and presentations to meet customer needs.

A bachelor's degree and 5-8 years of experience is desired.

A successful candidate will have a knowledge of basic electricity, central office equipment, SONET hierarchy, Ethernet/IP transport technologies, data circuits, copper/fiber transmission equipment, and fiber networks. Must possess in-depth trouble analysis and resolution skills. Supervisory, project management, written and verbal communication, and customer relations skills are a must.

The ability to be on-call, travel and work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed is required.

Broadband Technician
McCook, Nebraska

We are looking for an energetic, detail-oriented person to fill the position of Broadband Technician in the McCook, Nebraska area. One to three years telephone, cable TV, and internet installation and maintenance experience desired. Telecommunications or electronics degree preferred. Must have knowledge of basic electronics, cable color code, test equipment, computers, key systems, and DSL modems. Successful candidates must also have the ability to interpret staking sheets, maps, work orders, and cable counts, and splice cable as needed including fiber. Experience with construction equipment and tools, including trenchers and backhoes, is a plus. Excellent communication and customer relation skills are a must. Must possess a valid driver's license, CDL license preferred, and the ability to dig ditches, climb ladders and poles, and lift up to 50 pounds as necessary.

CONSTRUCTION LABORERS

Great Plains Underground Construction, based in Creighton, Nebraska, is looking for laborers to install communication and utility infrastructures. Must be able to operate construction equipment and tools, including trenchers, backhoes, skid loaders, tractors, and trucks. Must also be able to dig and lift up to 50 pounds frequently. Valid driver's license is a must. CDL license required after 6 months of service. Various work hours and weekly travel required. Overnight travel expenses paid.
