Great Plains Investments, Inc. (GPI) was created by GPC, Inc to fulfill the strategic decision “to invest in companies which provide diversification and will complement the core communications businesses.”

GPI founded companies such as Great Plains One Call Service, Inc. (GPOC) and Great Plains Locating Service, Inc. (GPLC).  GPOC managed the “diggers hotline” and call center.  GPLC provided underground utility line locating services throughout ten Midwestern states.  Both companies were sold in 2005.

Great Plains Investments, Inc. currently has a minority interest in the acquisition company know as Consolidated Utility Services (CUS).  GPI’s most recent investment has been AllCom Global Services, Inc. of Lake St. Louis, Missouri.  GPI acquired 80% of the stock in AllCom.   GPI will continue to find strategic investments which will help in the diversification of GPC, Inc.
