Great Plains Trade and Technical Scholarship | Print Application

The Great Plains Communications Trade and Technical Scholarship is offered to graduating high school seniors who plan to attend a trade or technical school in Nebraska. Up to ten $750 scholarships will be awarded statewide. Applicants must live in a community where Great Plains Communications provides telephone or cable television service. Scholarship winners are asked to provide a wallet-sized photograph for publicity purposes. If you would like more information regarding this scholarship, please see your Guidance Counselor, or you may print out the application. Great Plains Netlink Scholarship | Print Application

Offered to applicants 18 years of age or over and working to complete a degree or certificate program. A portion of the course of the study must be done via the Internet.


Great Plains Long Distance Scholarship | Print Application

Offered to graduating high school seniors who are enrolled in an agricultural related program and have a desire to return to their hometown, or other Great Plains Communications exchange, to pursue their career.


Great Plains Cable TV / DirecTV Scholarship | Print Application

Offered to graduating high school seniors or adult students who are working to complete a degree either on-line or through a tele-course program.


E.C. Hunt Sr. Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship was established by the Robert C. Hunt family in honor of E.C. Hunt, Sr., a telephone pioneer in the state of Nebraska. Several scholarships are awarded annually to incoming and current Dana College students who live in a community where Great Plains Communications provides telephone or cable television service. Selection is on the basis of financial need, academic achievement, personal statements, high school, campus, and community activities. FRS Scholarship Fund

The Foundation for Rural Service is an affiliate of the National Telephone Cooperative Association (NTCA), an organization of independent telephone companies across the country. Awards are granted to students sponsored by a National Telecommunications Cooperative Association (NTCA) member company and, if chosen, are awarded $2,000 by FRS in addition to a $500 scholarship match by their sponsoring company. The FRS Scholarship application requires a signature of sponsorship from Great Plains Communications. In order to meet the scholarship deadline, please send the completed application packet one week prior to the application deadline to: Great Plains Communications Attn: Jacque Wilkins P.O. Box 500 Blair, NE 68008 and Great Plains Communications will forward the application packet to FRS. Applicants should be graduating high school seniors with a C grade point average or above and who have an interest in working in a rural community following graduation. See your Guidance Counselor for FRS application material. Information is also available on the FRS website at www.frs.org.


FRED Scholarship Fund

The FRED Scholarship Fund provides educational opportunities for seniors in high school who wish to pursue careers in telecommunications, rural education, or rural development. See your guidance counselor for FRED application material. The FRED Scholarship application requires a letter of application from Great Plains Communications. In order to meet the scholarship deadline, please send the completed application packet one week prior to the application deadline to: Great Plains Communications Attn: Jacque Wilkins P.O. Great Plains Communications Grant Program | Print Application

Great Plains Communications offers the Great Plains Communications' Grant Program as part of our 'Commitment to the Schools.' A total of $25,000 is awarded annually to schools in Great Plains Communications' telephone and cable television service areas. The maximum amount awarded to one school district will be $5,000. The grants are awarded in the spring for use the following school year. The grant program is intended to encourage exceptional and unique ideas which improve the educational process. The program provides resources to add challenging new units or projects to the curriculum.
