“On August 31, 1949, Secretary of Defense Louis Johnson announced the creation of Armed Forces Day in replacement of the separate Army, Navy, Marine Corps and Air Force Days.” The unified day stemmed from the creation of the Armed Forces under the Department of Defense.
This Armed Forces Day, May 16, 2015, Great Plains Communications would like to say ‘Thank you’ to all who have served, are currently serving or have stood by in marriage to uphold and support the safety of our country.
