IP Network Engineer II
Blair, Nebraska

We are looking for an experienced Network Engineer to provide advanced support for our IP networks.

Duties include:
- Researching, testing, configuring, installing, and maintaining IP network equipment
- Performing network management functions
- Serving as project lead/manager
- Performing problem management for IP networks
- Providing advanced support to Engineering team and other personnel

A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Systems Management, Computer Systems Networking, Telecommunications, or Engineering, as well as over 5 years of experience with the installation and support of data center networking equipment is desired. CCNA certification with demonstrated progress towards CCNP is preferred.

Successful candidates must possess strong PC skills, knowledge of network fundamentals, and have the ability to configure and install routers, switches, remote access servers, and network management software. High attention to detail, along with customer relations, communication, analytical, organizational, and project management skills are essential. Must be able to work outside of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. if necessary, travel, and possess a valid driver's license.

Other requirements include:
- Knowledge of IP routed networks such as addressing, switching, DHCP, DNS, security, authentication, and routing

Broadband Technician

We are looking for energetic, detail-oriented individuals to fill the position of Broadband Technician the Chapman, Nebraska and Blair/Fremont, Nebraska areas.

One to three years telephone, cable TV, and internet installation and maintenance experience desired. Telecommunications or electronics degree preferred. Must have knowledge of basic electronics, cable color code, test equipment, computers, key systems, and DSL modems. Successful candidates must also have the ability to interpret staking sheets, maps, work orders, and cable counts, and splice cable as needed including fiber. Experience with construction equipment and tools, including trenchers and backhoes, is a plus.

Excellent communication and customer relation skills are a must. Must possess a valid driver's license, CDL license preferred, and the ability to dig ditches, climb ladders and poles, and lift up to 50 pounds as necessary.

Construction Laborers
Travel Required

Great Plains Underground Construction, based in Creighton, Nebraska, is looking for laborers to install communication and utility infrastructures.

Must be able to operate construction equipment and tools, including trenchers, backhoes, skid loaders, tractors, and trucks. Must also be able to dig and lift up to 50 pounds frequently. Valid driver's license is a must. CDL-licensed employees eligible for extra compensation. Various work hours and weekly travel required.

This position usually meets in Creighton, Nebraska on Monday mornings, travels to jobsites in various locations and returns to Creighton on Friday afternoon/evening. Employees are responsible for their own transportation to and from Creighton or the job site (whichever is closer and easier for you). Employees are often out of town 4 nights a week.

Overnight travel expenses and meals paid. Excellent benefits package available at 3 months of employment. EOE.
